Now and then you hear people saying "emo music is the devils music", but have you ever really listened to the words? Popular music these days is just about big butts, getting laid or smoking weed. Popular music in my option is just trash, kids are growing up with this music all around them and you expect them to be kind and gentle when all they hear is the F word every 5 minutes. Bands like Peirce the Veil , Sleeping with Sirens or even Bring me the Horizon and many other so called "emo" bands give children hope. When your being bullied or going though a tuff time you don't need music that supports violence. Music that has meaningful powerful words can help settle the mind, stop children from fighting or from snapping and going crazy. If people just stopped and listen to the words of "emo" music then they would see the beauty of the lyrics effort and emotion they put into the songs. Some songs are built from personal experiences and with passionate words that most people can relate to. Next time your discounting someone's taste in music like emo, goth or satanist please just listen to the words you just might learn something.
Your so right, I've listen to some of Rene's music and I can see why it draws people, I'm so tired of music that's nothing but sex this sex that, and stuff that pretty much says that women are nothing but garbage, it's not EMO it's music, good music, although some of the screamo stiff i can't understand lol, great article!!!
